Snowsville comic is finally complete and being printed as we speak! Some teaser images to follow….
Howdy! Yeah, I was actually trolling Tumblr for interesting things, I did a search for “stop motion” and found a ukulele video of yours. I really dig your music!
Yep, I’m starting a new animated film.
I can think of at least 12 people who might ask me “when are you going to finish your last film?”. The answer is soon, or soonish at the latest. I still have lots of work to do. Working on a multi-year film can be exhausting mentally, having that unfinished burden hanging over your head. I find it helps the ‘ol brain to actually take new, different, project from start to finish. In other words, starting project #2 (while still having an unfinished project #1) and then finishing project #2 gives me a little mental boost forward. I’m then ready to get back in the saddle and tackle the next batch of animation on project #1. If that makes any sense.
That brings us to “Snowsville”, the title of the new animation/comic. Yep, I plan on doing a comic and animated version of this little story. This July, I will again have a table at the San Diego Comic-Con (more on that soon) and plan to have the “Snowsville” comic finished by then.
“Snowsville” stars my old pal Scissors the Bunny. The setting is a grocery store exterior, a “coin-operated horsey ride” will be an important player in the film, and it will be mixed media. Thats about all I can tell you now. Stay tuned for sketches.
But, hey! While I’m thinking about it, I need a good “coin-operated horsey ride” to photograph. Anyone know of one in the Los Angeles area?
Howdy there, internet…Welcome to my new adventure, the birdenvy blog…
Let me introduce myself…
I draw comics (mostly about bunnies and birds)
I design squishy pillow friends (right now I just make owls, I soon hope to introduce more creatures to the repertoire)
I animate things (during both my day job and my spare time)
thats basically it.
I’ll be posting updates on my comics, animations and pillow making. Here you’ll also find random links to videos that make me clap with joy, my favorite new websites/products/people/colors, and very possibly a cat photo or two.
